Selena Savage is a trombonist, singer and arranger, born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. Currently, she is in year four of her degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto, where she has been able to study with some of her biggest musical inspirations.
Regularly heard at jazz venues and jams in Toronto, Selena is a rising star on the Canadian jazz scene, leading quintets, septets and her mini big band. As an arranger, her charts take inspiration from jazz legends such as Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass, as well as her former teacher, Terry Promane. The Selena Savage Septet performs at The Rex and had a residency at the Emmet Ray in spring 2024. Her 10tet will make their debut at The Rex and Drom Taberna this fall. She plays in Whitehorse at various venues with the Selena Savage Quartet and is a scholarship recipient of the University of Toronto and Jazz Yukon. As a side musician, Selena can be heard on trombone and vocals with the New North Collective and the Elijah Bekk Band.
Outside of her music, Selena is known as a digital visual artist, creating logo design, portraits, and countless gig posters for her colleagues.
